6 years after the last edition of Interpack, expectations were high for the 2023 edition of the show held at Messe Düsseldorf. However, the world-leading show for the packaging industry delivered once more and did not disappoint anyone.

It has been a record year in terms of participation of associated members of amec envasgraf, with 44 exhibiting companies. The companies have been really satisfied, as they have fulfilled their main objectives:

• Strengthen their international commercial network
• Establish contact with regular customers
• Contact new potential clients

Spanish companies have showcased a range of innovations and solutions catering for the whole chain of value of the packaging industry. Such innovations are mainly focused on energy efficiency and sustainability, process automation, and machine design and safety:

• Energy efficiency and sustainability: more versatile solutions and sustainable processes. Machines with lower energy consumption to guarantee sustainability and the circular economy.
• Process automation: greater degree of automation, automatic format changes, development of active packaging technologies and greater connectivity.
• Design and safety of machines: hygienic design of equipment, new technologies for active packaging, improvement of machine ergonomics, adaptation of machines to meet market demands and to comply with the control of asepsis and sterilization parameters.

Interpack is no doubt a must for any company in the industry, and the Spanish sector has shown how resilient it is and how hard it is working to rank a top player in the world industry. “Spain occupies an important place in the sector worldwide, it occupies the 10th position as an exporting country, and this has been seen by looking at the 87 stands of Spanish companies, which occupied more than 5,000 sqm. at the fair,” says Carmina Castellá, director of amec envasgraf.

amec envasgraf also attended they show personally with an informative stand from where it conducted a series of actions to promote its member companies:

• Hold meetings with counterpart associations from different countries (USA, Australia, UK, Italy, China, Germany, etc…) to create synergies.
• Be in permanent contact with its associated companies, analyzing the innovations of the companies, and detecting possible services and activities of interest.
• Maintain contact with the main Spanish and international media in the sector to promote our companies.
