With Interpack 2023 around the corner, our Key Account Manager and expert in packaging, Carmina Castellá, gives an outlook of what to expect from the coming leading show in Europe for the packaging industry.

How many companies Spanish Packaging Technologies represent and how many are going to be present at Interpack? 

87 Spanish companies will participate in this edition of Interpack 2023, and the majority are machinery and equipment manufacturers, 44 are members of amec envasgraf, the Spanish association of packaging machinery manufacturers. Equipment manufacturers will be present, ranging from manufacturers of flexible packaging machines to the end of the line, including fillers, dosers, positioners, cappers, labellers, encoders, cartooning, inspection equipment and others. We are also joined by Spanish manufacturers of food processing technology.

Interpack is an excellent opportunity to connect with the entire ecosystem of the packaging sector, customers, distributors, representatives, suppliers, and other companies in the packaging value chain, worldwide, and in seven days. And of course, an excellent opportunity to present the innovations carried out in companies in recent years.

What are the hot topics at Interpack 2023?

Some of the hot topic at Interpack will be circular economy, resource management, digital technologies and product safety. Spanish packaging machinery manufacturers have done their homework and will present innovations in all these areas.Highlighting the concept of sustainability among the essential requirements to assess the technology. It is no longer enough to manufacture high-tech machines, with format changes, automated, and a high degree of productivity, but now, we must incorporate sustainability. Nowadays textile companies need to also focus on handling recyclable and thinner packaging materials, allow lower energy and water consumption, amongt others. W can’t neihter forget the efforts that companies have made in recent years in digitalization, now being able to provide service to their customers remotely.
